Venomous Abyss November 5 Hotfixes: Heroic and Mythic

Smaller Blood Venom pools affect Heroic and Mythic. Other November 5 raid nerfs have narrower scope. Check the exact mode before changing your next pull.

Venomous Abyss November 5 Hotfixes: Heroic and Mythic

The short version

Heroic gains smaller maximum Blood Venom pools and slower spinning axes. Mythic also receives shorter-lived pools, selected damage reductions, longer fragment availability and fewer Soulcoilers per Spiritcackle. Keep recovery and add assignments intact while checking the exact changed pressure point.

Blizzard’s November 5, 2026 hotfix entry changes three Venomous Abyss encounters. For the next raid, the useful distinction is the difficulty attached to each line: smaller Blood Venom pools reach Heroic and Mythic, while several damage and timing changes explicitly belong to Mythic. Give your group the changes that apply to its actual mode before adjusting the plan.

Checked November 6, 2026, for Retail Midnight. Ability names are English search references; their links identify the spell. The numerical changes below come from Blizzard’s difficulty-labelled hotfix post.

Start with the changes relevant to Heroic

At Entombed Sentinels, Blood Venom pools have a reduced maximum scale on Heroic and Mythic. Blizzard gives no new radius. Keep the agreed drop areas and movement lanes, then reassess how much usable space remains after the same sequence.

At The Coiled Altar, the spinning Axegrinder axes move 20% more slowly on all difficulties. Keep the orb collection point and movement lanes clear of their ricocheting paths. The separate 20% damage reduction is labelled Mythic; the movement change does not establish that damage reduction for Heroic.

Four abilities to identify in the briefing

Blood Venom Blood Venom — Heroic/Mythic: maximum pool size reduced. Keep drop assignments; the two-minute duration is Mythic only.
Axegrinder Axegrinder — All modes: spinning axes move 20% more slowly. Dodge their paths and protect the orb collection point. The 20% damage cut is Mythic only.
Venom Rupture Venom Rupture — Mythic: damage 15% lower. Retain the planned orb clear and healing coverage.
Spiritcackle Spiritcackle — Mythic: one Spiteful Soulcoiler per cast, previously two. Assign the remaining add and keep a backup.

Keep the Mythic-only adjustments together

The same November 5 entry specifies:

  • Entombed Sentinels: Blood Venom pools last 2 minutes, previously 5, on Mythic.
  • Twin Fangs: Visceral Burst damage falls by 40% on Mythic.
  • Coiled Altar: Axegrinder and Gloombomb damage each fall by 20%; Venom Rupture damage falls by 15%, on Mythic.
  • Coiled Altar: personal Soul Fragments associated with Gravebound stay available 2 seconds longer before fading, on Mythic.
  • Coiled Altar: Spiritcackle summons 1 Spiteful Soulcoiler instead of 2, on Mythic. Blizzard says this brings the spawn pattern into line with Heroic.

Mythic damage illustration: each ability’s previous value is normalized to 100. A 40% cut leaves 60; 20% leaves 80; 15% leaves 85. These are relative values for the named hits, not measured combat damage or a reduction to the whole encounter.

One entry has no difficulty label

The post also reports a 60% damage reduction to Malevolent Resonance without a difficulty qualifier. Preserve that distinction in your briefing. Its spell description links the damage to Manifestations touching each other; keeping them separated remains the useful mechanical response.

Change the pressure points, preserve the jobs

For Heroic, update the pool-space expectation in the Sentinels plan and the orb-collection and movement lanes in the Coiled Altar plan. Recheck the event that previously failed: a blocked lane, an orb carrier crossing an axe path or a missed handover needs its own fix.

For Mythic, assign a player to the remaining Soulcoiler and keep a replacement ready. The extra fragment availability is breathing room for collection; players still need to recover their personal fragments. Keep planned orb clears and healing coverage while testing how the lower Venom Rupture damage affects the actual overlap.

Mythic change diagram: Spiritcackle produces one Soulcoiler per cast instead of two. The clock shows two extra seconds before Gravebound personal fragments fade. It does not show the total add count for the fight or a new Heroic debuff duration.

Before the next pull, confirm the selected difficulty, the revised assignments and the particular failure you are testing. Blizzard’s post notes that some hotfixes take effect immediately and others may require realm restarts; it does not confirm activation on every realm. Use the current official entry when checking what your group should expect.
